Coban Watu Ondo Waterfall: Beautiful Panorama Behind Mojokerto District

Coban Watu Ondo is one of the tourism objects in East Java, Indonesia. It is located in Mojokerto district, exactly Pacet sub district, East Java. The societies generally call it “twin waterfall” or “air terjun kembar” in Bahasa Indonesia because we’ll find two beautiful waterfalls in this object. The first waterfall is about 90 to 100 meters, and the second is about 25 to 30 meters. Sometimes, we’ll feel that the water is very cold, while it is warm in another spot. Therefore, the societies consider that they are very unique because they have different sources that meet in the one spot. Coban Watu Ondo consists of three Javanese words. “Coban” meaning water flowing down, “Watu” meaning stone, and “Ondo” meaning ladder. It refers to waterfall that has stone ladders. Meanwhile if we want to visit the waterfalls, we are going to walk down passing some stone ladders. It may be tiring, but the natural beauty will provide us. The water is very cold and clean. The natural is still saved without pollution.

There are some routes to visit this object. We can come from Jombang, Mojokerto, Surabaya, or Batu. If we come from Jombang, Mojokerto, or Surabaya, we just need to find the direction for going to Pacet, and follow the direction until we arrive in Pacet. Keep our stamina fit because after this we’ll pass dangerous routes. From Pacet we need to find the direction to go to Batu or Cangar. We’ll pass a big river called “Kali Kromong”. It is okay to get rest there for a while because the trip may be still far. It is about 40 minutes to 50 minutes for arriving in the object. The object is in the left side of the street. If we come from Batu, we have to look for Cangar route. We just follow the street until we find a banner written “Air Terjun Watu Ondo” in the right side of the street.

We make sure that we have good preparations before visiting this object. Don’t worry about the ticket. It is very cheap about Rp. 7500,00 a person. First, make sure we are in well condition because the routes will be slope upward and curve. It needs good driving skill to pass it. Second, make sure we bring more consumption because we’ll very long forest that we just find trees and ravines around us. Don’t worry; in the middle of our trip we’ll pass a rest area. It is called “Sendi”. Maybe, we can take a rest there and enjoy a cup of coffee before continuing our trip, hehehe. The last, make sure we wear a jacket or the other clothes protecting us from cold temperature. Besides that, it is important to focus during the trip and keep our safety.
