Malang district is a district located in East Java, Indonesia. This district is known for the apples that are mostly cultivated by the societies surrounding. It isn’t only known for the apples but also known as the nature beauty and some nature tourism objects. One of them is “Coban Rondo”. It refers to the name of famous waterfall from Malang district. “Coban Rondo” consists of two Javanese words, “Coban” meaning waterfall and “Rondo” meaning widow. Its name taken from a history of empire era in Java where a wife became a widow since her husband isolated her in this waterfall, and then her husband was killed in the warfare. This waterfall is always visited by many tourists both domestic and foreign especially in the weekend and national holiday.
In the rainy season, Coban Rondo will be very cold rather than in the summer. Of course, exactly this waterfall located in the height 1135 meters from the surface of the sea, and Its own height is 84 meters. Even though it is not higher than Tretes waterfall that I have visited previously, Coban Rondo has its own uniquenesses such as its nature beauty, flora, and fauna. The flora are mostly dominated by Pinus trees and Cemara trees, and the fauna are mostly dominated by monkeys herd. You can see monkeys herd around you in the street surrounding of this waterfall. These monkeys aren’t wild because they have habituated with the tourists existence around them. In fact, the tourists usually feed these monkeys by giving some food brought from home. You can directly interact with them when you visit Coban Rondo. It is interisting, isn’t it?. The beautiful panorama was a target of my eyes and my camera when I was visiting this waterfall. I washed my face with the cold water below this watefall, and I felt the beauty while I refreshed my mind. However, you may come near the waterfall in the summer only, there is a caution prohibiting people to come near the waterfall in the rainy season because the rate of flow will be faster than in the summer, and it will be dangerous. Therefore I suggest you to visit Coban Rondo in the summer to get best view photo, and enjoy the nature beauty.
